Muladhara

Greetings & Welcome to our first 7 week segment! This journey will be focused on breaking down the Chakra system, studying its ancient messages and how it communicates with our bodies, and establishing great personal tools and foundations for how to balance, and maintain balance in all areas.  Our opportunity in studying the Chakras is to learn how to master each Chakras essence and unite them all into a unified field of brilliance.  As such, we re-unite our disparate parts into a radian light of full self-awareness. What a glorious way to reconnect to self and serve the collective! As we create balanced, centered and aligned versions of ourselves, we bring that state into the collective and alter the dominant frequency just by holding that space in our own temples. Lets dive in, shall we?

This week is all about Muladhara the Root Chakra. The Root Chakra is located at the base of the spine, its color is Red and it is associated with the element Earth and thus with the sensation of being grounded or rooted, stable, and secure. When the Root Chakra is balanced and clear, fear does not cloud you, doubt does not shroud you, and the world works for you – through you – with you. An overactive Root Chakra tends to manifest with feelings of fear and possession, where an underactive Root Chakra tends to manifest with feelings of instability and victimization. With this information we can understand the importance of a balanced Root Chakra and how to establish where we are individually in order to improve and expand. When we have blockages or stagnancy in one area, we cause “Energetic Traffic” that blocks the free flow of energy from entering into all of the other chakra centers as well.

Tools for balancing the Root Chakra

Affirmations:   Repeat this mantra out loud or during meditation –  I Am safe, I Am Stable, I Am Grounded, I stand Authentically in my Power. I Am Welcome here, I belong Here. I Trust, I belong, I Am.

Crystals: Smokey Quartz, Black TourmalineThis stone belongs to the astrological sign of Capricorn and..., Shungite, and Obsidian are all crystals that harmonize with the energies and intentions of the Root Chakra. They are associated with grounding and stability. Meditating, sleeping, or carrying/wearing these crystals can help to bring balance and awareness to the Root Chakra.

Essential Oils: Sandalwood, Cedar, Rosewood, and Rosemary are all associated with the Root Chakra and can be used to aid in balancing and clearing the root chakra by being used in a diffuser, diluted in a spray or body mist, or rubbed on topically.

Nutrition: Red foods such as beets, red cabbage, carrots, and strawberries are all associated with the Root Chakra as well as foods with roots such as ginger. These foods amongst various others can be used in a smoothie, juiced, or cooked together in a stew or stirfry to create magical nourishment for our bodies and Root Chakras.

Sound Therapy: The Root Chakra vibrated in harmony to the “C” note and chanting the mantra “LAM” while immersing oneself in sounds that resonate with the Root Chakra can be immesely powerful and impactful in balancing and clearing the Root Chakra. Crystal singing bowls are a combination of crystal healing and sound therapy that make a great tool for Chakra balancing and clearing.

Ultimately – the Root Chakra is connected to the element of Earth and there is no better way to connect with Earth than to get outside! Get those toes dirty! Rub them in some soil and sit beneath a tree, if you can. Allowing yourself to connect with the sounds and smells of mother earth can quickly are very tenderly reconnect you to your sense of stability, and bring balance and peace to the Root Chakra.

We hope this information has been useful, empowering, and fun!

With endless love ~
